Geeche Dan - The Singing Dragon

Geeche Dan ist einer von Vielen, die in der New Yorker U-Bahn leben und arbeiten. Seine Kunst ist das Singen, wie im Video deutlich wird, und es scheint, als käme er auch ganz gut damit über die Runden :-) hoffe ich zumindest! Und je mehr Leute das Video anschauen, umso größer seine Chancen, noch erfolgreicher zu werden...

Da Video ist Teil 9 einer Mini-Serie von/über New Yorker Straßenmusikern auf vimeo,  nennt sich sehr treffend "Playing for Pocket Change" :-)

Here’s a touching story about New York City subway crooner, Geechee Dan, from the delightful mini series Playing For Pocket Change. This man has soul and then some. Rock on, Singing Dragon!

Playing For Pocket Change is a mini series featuring musicians playing on the streets and in the subways of New York City. Often overlooked and ignored, we find out who these people are and what makes them want play in the world’s strangest venue.

Dass diese Art von Publicity über das Web funktionieren kann habe ich live auf einem Kongress eines großen Softwareentwicklers in New Orleans mitbekommen, auf dem "Playing for Change" auftraten. Diese Band reist mittlerweile um die halbe Welt und hatte schon zahlreiche Fernsehauftritte... (ein repost eines Beitrags meines alten Blogs, trotzdem schön :-)



The video above is an example of a successful promotion of street musicians through youtube. I saw "Playing for Change" live in 2009 on a conference in New Orleans, meanwhile they are touring all over the world :-) So great - good luck!!!
