"It's been another eventful year for us all at Timelapse Towers - new rig designs, achieving the seemingly impossible and working on some big and amazing projects!
Unusually, I spent the majority of last year shooting in Britain, mainly about British subjects and British people and for programmes with the word 'Britain' or 'British' in the title - hence the title of my latest reel.
Over the course of a very busy 2013 I've worked my way through 4 Canon 5D's and a 7D - over six million photos taken between them and they now proudly sit on my 'retired' shelf!"

Was soll ich sagen - SCHÖN!!!

'City Lights' is the final chapter from my "Trilogy of Light" series that began a couple years ago with 'LA Light' and then followed up with 'Nightfall'. It was an nightly adventure that took me to almost every angle of Los Angeles. It was an exercise in patience. A lesson in light. An understanding of what it is to live amongst each other and to understand the system and order of a city, the seemingly complex organics that make it up and the life form that the city truly is. A visualization of sonder. It was a daily jaunt to watch the arterial freeway systems pump car cells through its body and channel them to the capillaric avenues that are our neighborhoods and homes. It was a chance to break away from the 70mph freeway perspective and to observe the sun slip from view and watch the electric dance of nightfall begin. It was challenging. It was frustrating. Definitely dangerous at times. Sometimes it hurt. I was chased. Yelled at. Warned. But the overall context of things learned, people met, things seen, and places discovered over the past three years shaped who I am today. I didn't always love Los Angeles but I learned to and discovered that this city is much more than temperate weather, palm trees, pretty girls, and beaches; to me the true beauty behind the city lies hidden on the other end of a rusted fire escape to a view no one else has seen.
I'm looking forward to the next chapter of my film making career where I will be concentrating on narrative and documentary films.
Thanks for watching, reading, and supporting my films.
Cheers,
Colin

"Penang" is my tribute to the Penang Island (or Pulau Pinang in Bahasa Malaysia), a turtle-shaped island in the Straits of Malacca 8 km west of Peninsular Malaysia.
Penang, a tourist destination in Malaysia, offers many things such as beautiful landscapes, mixed and unique cultures, heritage, and even delicious foods.
As a foreigner living in Kuala Lumpur, I had not have much time as I needed to really capture the beauty and uniqueness of Penang. I had to juggle between family, rest, and photography during my 4 days family trip. But hey, nothing to complain. This is Penang, hope you enjoy it.
Featured locations:
Penang Bridge, Armenian Street, Ah Quee Street, 1st Avenue, Penang Hill, Jerejak Jetty, Chowrasta Market, Eastern&Oriental Hotel, St. George's Church, Straits Quay, Batu Feringgi, Gurney Drive, Tanjung Bungah, Teluk Bahang, Kek Lok Si Temple
Facts:
All photos taken between 23 December 2013 and 26 December 2013 during my year-end vacation
All photos taken using Canon EOS 6D with either Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM or Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD lens
Total 3170 still photos made it to this video

They say it's gloomy, it's cloudy, it's wet, I say it's paradise. I’ve been in The Pacific Northwest about three years now and have fallen head over heels for the place. This timelapse video is the first of what I hope to be many visual projects exploring the region and - at the very least - getting me out of the house.

Ein sehr schönes Timelapse Video, das die andauernde Hektik in dieser riesigen Stadt sehr gut veranschaulicht ;-)
